FAQs
Here’s you can find answers to some of our most Frequently Asked Questions.

What does it mean to be a professional theatre company?

At Duke City Rep, when we say professional, we mean that every single person we employ – actors, directors, designers, technicians, even our box office staff – is paid for their work. It also means that we hire members from Actors’ Equity Association, the union for professional actors and stage managers. But we also consider “professional theatre” to mean something else as well, a goal that we work towards every day — a professional theatre where artists can make their livings creating art. It is a goal that makes Duke City Rep rather unique in Albuquerque.

When is your season?
Our season generally runs from August/September/October to May. We do occasionally perform during our off-season at special events and festivals around town.

Where do you perform?
Duke City Repertory Theatre performs at various venues around the city.

When do you perform?
We typically perform Thursday through Sunday for two or three week runs. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances are at 8pm, Sunday performances are 2pm or 4pm, depending on the production. During Bard Crawl, we perform at other times and days of the week, so please be sure to check the start time listed and brewery for the performance you are attending.

Where is parking?
Each show has specific parking details listed on the show pages of this website and our Eventbrite event page.

My company hires entertainment for our conventions. Does Duke City Rep ever do anything like that?
Yes. We’re always up for new experiences with new audiences! Contact Artistic Director Amelia Ampuero at Amelia@dukecityrep.com for more information and to discuss rates.

How much do tickets cost?
$15 pre-purchase (online)
$18 at the door

Where can I purchase tickets?
You can purchase tickets online by clicking the “Buy Tickets” link at the top of this site.

Can you hold my tickets and I’ll pay for them when I get to the theatre the day of the performance?
Unfortunately, we cannot hold unpaid tickets, aka “reservations”. Tickets can be pre-purchased online, over the phone or at the theatre when the box office opens for that day’s performance.

How early should I arrive at the theatre?
Duke City Repertory Theatre shows start promptly on time. Box office and house open 30 minutes prior to curtain, this gives you time to park, grab your tickets, get your concessions, visit the restrooms and settle into your seats without being rushed. Arrive no later than 10 minutes before curtain. (See “Do you release unclaimed tickets?” below)

Do your shows really start on time?
Absolutely! We pride ourselves on starting our shows on time.

Can I still see the show if I arrive after the show has started?
Duke City Rep has a strict no-late-seating policy, no exceptions. The venue and the nature of our productions means that we cannot seat late comers without being extremely disruptive to the audience and cast. If a show has an intermission and there are available seats, we can attempt to situate you during the act break.

Do you release unclaimed tickets?
Yes, we release all tickets that have not been claimed ten minutes prior to the start of each performance for sold out shows.

I wasn’t able to make it to the show. Can I get a refund?
Yes, although they are offered at the discretion of the management. We also honor tickets at a later date of the same show if seats are available. If you miss a performance of a sold out date and we are not able to resell your seats before the show, a refund will typically be declined. Please email us at info@dukecityrep.com if you cannot attend the performance and would like to request a refund or transfer to another date.

Are children welcome at Duke City Rep productions?
We love kiddos and some of our productions are appropriate for all ages! Age recommendations are listed on each show page.

While we welcome children to age appropriate shows, we do require that each child be able to sit in their own seat for the duration of the show and we do not allow babes in arms.

Can I bring my dog, cat, pet iguana, porcupine, etc. to the theatre?
Certified service animals are, of course, welcome. We do request that you leave all other furry, scaly and prickly friends at home.

Do you offer any type of special discounts?
Our tickets are already incredibly affordable and will cost you less than going to the movies after the popcorn, sodas and gummy worms are added to the tab!
Duke City Rep is not a member of the Albuquerque Theatre Guild and therefore, we do not offer discounts to ATG or TLC members.

Is the venue assigned seating or general admission?
It’s general admission but our spaces are intimate and there truly isn’t a bad seat in the house!

Can I record the show or take pictures during the performance?
We’re so glad you want to have a memento from your experience at Duke City Rep! But because of rights and licensing issues, photography and recordings of any kind of our performances are not allowed, except at Bard Crawl.

Do you serve food and drinks at the show?
Light concessions and beverages are available for purchase at the show and can be enjoyed inside the theatre. Bard Crawl breweries have food trucks parked outside along with the tasty beverages they serve inside.
